So blog commander Cap'n Steve Haruch is out right now, having just been cast as the lead in Dad, Part 2. Otherwise, I know he'd be front and center, ready to rave about the merits of New York's polyglottic indie-rock trio, Blonde Redhead. He once told me that BR's Italian-born twins, Simone and Amedeo Pace, display an eerie sort of musical ESP onstage. And personally, Misery Is a Butterfly was basically my favorite record of 2004.
And, the details: Blonde Redhead will be touring in support of their forthcoming record, Penny Sparkle, this fall. They'll stop in at Mercy Lounge on Oct. 27; tickets are $20 and will be available right here beginning on Friday, July 23, at 10 a.m. Dig that.
