Caption Contest: Band of Horses Giveaway! [Updated]

Posted By on Wed, Jul 7, 2010 at 7:00 AM

  • As the sixth month without seeing their grandchildren passed, the Dentons knew the traditional guilt trips weren't working. This Christmas card of 2008 proved to be a masterstroke.

Unless you’ve found yourself here by way of a Google alert, you know how this works: We post a funny photo (see above), and you spend hours agonizing to conjure up the funniest caption you can think of to accompany said photo. If you succeed, we give you a free pair of sick-ass concert tickets — in this installment, to go soothe yourself in the grip of pre-eminent Americana darlings Band of Horses when they bring their folksy serenade to War Memorial this coming Monday. Tell me THAT isn’t worth a little bit o' right-brain activity.

Just because Band of Horses’ music isn’t funny doesn’t meant you, the BoH fan, can’t be. Put the proof in the pudding and come up with a witty quip that’ll split the sides of Cream readers far and wide. In the event you can’t rise to the occasion, but still wanna get your groove — or in this case, pensive head-nod — on, you can still engage in some good ole-fashioned online ticket acquisition by clicking here. In other words: Tickets are still on sale ( for $28 a piece). You don't need a registered account to post a caption — just scroll down and click on "post without an account" after previewing your comment — but you do have to provide a valid email (in the proper field) in order to win. This caption contest ends this Friday at noon. Go! Update: We have our winner. Thanks for playing!
