Seven Inches in Heaven: JEFF the Brotherhood, Kindergarten Circus Preview Summer Wax

Posted By on Fri, Jun 25, 2010 at 11:19 AM

July is looking pretty awesome for people who like to collect 7-inch records by Nashville bands that have been put out by non-Nashville labels. And here it is merely the 25th of June, and you can already listen to two hot non-local releases of local bands on the Internets. D.P.R. and I both have July birthdays. Just mentioning that, but not for any particular reason, really.

First off, you can head over to Kindergarten Circus' MySpace page to hear the track "Twin Evils," from the forthcoming "No More Wizards" 7-inch, which features James Leg of The Black Diamond Heavies on both sides. It's real Sabbath-y, if you know what I mean, but not too Sabbath-y, if you know what I mean.
Label: Chicken Ranch
Street date: July 13
Lyric I may have misheard: "I've got some sliced bologna!"

Second off, you can now stream the eff out of the new JEFF the Brotherhood single, "Mellow Out." It's heavy, man. It's also got some gnarly brain-bender guitar shreds.
Label: Suicide Squeeze
Pre-orders ship: July 6
Trim levels: glow-in-the-dark, or dark-in-the-dark
Other artists who've put out records on Suicide Squeeze: Modest Mouse, Pedro the Lion, Elliott Smith.
Lyric I probably heard right: "I wanna do something with you."
