Hey dudes, Judes and all you other lonely people of the blogosphere! Do you guys remember what happened last time Nashville Mayor Karl Dean called a press conference at the local enormodome? Of course you don’t: a Nashville stop on Elton John and Billy Joel’s Face 2 Face tour was announced. We were all a little bummed when it wasn’t Morrissey and The Sex Pistols … or Guns N’ Roses and Metallica. Well, our illustrious mayor is at it again, and will be announcing an upcoming area appearance by another rock icon at a similar press conference today at 2 p.m. Hint: It’s not Limp Bizkit, although they are making their stateside return to the road this year ... at least they were until their tour was canceled to "reroute venues." LMFAO. In fact, this time maybe you’ll be amazed at who it is. Maybe. We have no official confirmation nor do we know the date of this forthcoming golden slumber but, as of “yesterday,” we do know — unofficially, but unequivocally — that our downtown arena is about to play Shea Stadium to the only left-handed bassist the Queen of England ever knighted — Anglophiles feel free to correct me if I’m wrong. The Nashville-bound performer is a man whose music can best be described as “Beatles-esque.” A man I feel can safely be described as a fairly decent songwriter — at least Michael Jackson thought so — he said, said, said it through his investments.
Don’t get your hopes up, the magical mystery performer is NOT Ringo Starr — his local haunt is The Wildhorse Saloon, remember?
As previously stated, the press conference convenes at 2 p.m. The Cream’s own Steve Haruch will be on hand to bask in the mayor’s rock ‘n’ roll glory and get the scoop in full. At which point he’ll use advanced technology and new media to post bona fide deets here and on the Cream’s Twitter. So, refresh them pages within the hour to find out when you maniacs can come together at Bridgestone — probably some night in July — and how you can acquire your tickets to ride with a good Sir and his band on the run. Also, if you can’t figure out who I’m talking about, then that will be announced for the record as well.
