Non-Commissioned Officers Frontman Eric Lehning Predicts Flood

Posted by D. Patrick Rodgers on Tue, May 18, 2010 at 8:30 AM

So everyone remembers when The Non-Commissioned Officers took home the gold at Round One of Mercy Lounge's Road to Bonnaroo series, right? Well, did anyone happen to notice frontman — and occasional Scene Arts Section contributor — Eric Lehning's prophetic announcement during the evangelical-preacher-of-rock-n-roll-style diatribe during the song "Ride"? At about three minutes into the above video, you'll hear the following:

I know that you party so hard because tomorrow may never come. But I have seen tomorrow! And I will tell you that we can live underwater! And we can love underwater! But we cannot rock and roll underwater!

Gives you chills, doesn't it? I mean, as long as you don't think about it too hard or really read that much into it. Hey, Lehning! If you're so good, what am I eating for lunch today?

Thanks for proving that Eric Lehning is PURE EVIL. It's obvious that he brought the flood upon this city. Patrick, I thought you were anti-cult. Disappointed in you.

I could potentially be pro-cult were said cult in the right hands.

The answer to my proposed question was "Sub Stop." Since, as far as I know, Guru Lehning made no attempt at answering my question, I'd say he doesn't have the Right Stuff, cult-wise.
