More news of local rock dudes looking to pitch in and make a difference in the face of this here aquatic calamity. Daniel Pujol recently sent us a message about a show taking place on Sunday, May 9, at Rocketown's new temporary locale (522 Fifth Ave. S.). The info:

In conjunction with the GRO event at the skatepark, Rocketown will be hosting a benefit show, with all proceeds going to those who have needs as a result of the flood. ... [Featuring] Heavy Cream, PUJOL, So Jazzy, Ben Steine’s Money, Alcina, Big Surr, Diarrhea Planet, Goodbye Apathy, Alert The Sky, Stephen Keech of Haste The Day solo project. BANDS START AT 5 FREE. This means use your money to give to those that have lost everything from The Flood. There will be a donation box for money, as well as any goods/clothes/toiletries/cleaning supplies you can give.

You heard the man: The show is free, but donations — cash as well as cleanup supplies, clothes, et cetera — will be accepted. Rocketown also tweeted yesterday that tonight's show (featuring You, Me & Everyone We Know, Breathe Electric and some other bands I haven't heard of) is in fact canceled. Follow along with Rocketown's Twitter for further info. Now that Olbermann has told folks that we're underwater, maybe they'll start paying attention.
