From the Department of Lucky Fucks: Nashville's best smooth-rockin' and hard-groovin' party band have just been invited to take place in a real-life reenactment of one of my wet dreams. No, I'm not talking about Space Capone or a Chat Roulette convo between myself and Bruce Springsteen. I'm talking about Tim Chad & Sherry, and how the reunited Pavement have just tapped them play the All Tomorrow's Parties festival they're curating in Minehead, U.K.

With one of most ridiculous festival lineups I've ever seen, Tim/Chad will perform in the company of credibility hoarders the likes of Faust (!), The Fall (!), Quasi, Mission of Burma (!), Broken Social Scene, The Raincoats (!), Calexico, The Walkmen, Atlas Sound, The Clean (!), Blitzen Trapper, Boris, Monotonix, Wax Fang, Times New Viking, Surfer Blood and (obviously) Pavement (!!!). Do you see all those exclamation points? Each one represents an angel that just got its wings. No word yet on whether or not they plan to repeat this incarnation of heaven at The 5 Spot (fingers crossed). ATP brings joy to Minehead May 14-16. Tickets are already sold out, but where there's a will there's a way, right? For more info and complete list of performers, check out the ATP site.

Tim Chad & Sherry get awesome after the jump.

Incredible! That's awesome.. and good for Wax Fang too. (Although I feel stupid because I haven't heard any of TC&S until this very moment.)

Oh, Patrick. You're missing out, buddy. "Soft Country" has got to be one of the sexiest smooth jams I've ever heard.
Also, "Caller ID" slightly reminds me of The Looking Glass's "Brandi." That is definitely not a bad thing.

Despite all the great players in this band, the music totally sucks...just face it.
This band has been around for years and have yet to stike the balance between great musicianship and great songs. Painful to listen to this crap...but good luck to them. Would hate to be playing this material next to the likes of the Fall and Mission of Burma or any of the others...

I think music like this is more likely to stand out and entertain these festival goers than you're garden variety post-punk knock-off. People forget there was a time when punks listened to other kinds of music besides punk.
