It's been a while since we checked in with You Tell Concerts, and we've really missed some great stuff. YTC's John Mayer at Sommet coverage -- embedded above -- has to be my favorite character study to date. As you'll hear, people liked it when Mayer "rocked it on the guitar" and "jammed the house" jazz-wise, but a couple of fans didn't so much care for Mayer's " 'trying to change' buncha bullshit. Gettin' over Jennifer Aniston or whatever the fuck he was talking about." They're referring, of course, to Mayer's tearful apology after dropping the N-bomb in a nudie mag. Classy all around.
It's also interesting that some gentlemen attendees felt the need to defend the "bluesy" and "actually good" elements of Mayer's music whilst distancing themselves from the, ahem, "pussy" stuff. Anyhow, many of these folks appear to be repeat offenders, the bulk of whom are girls with nice earrings and fiancées and fancy pea coats who like Mayer because of his tattoo sleeves. He's the bad boy of completely safe, non-bad boys. Check after the jump to see a couple more YTC reviews we've missed: Black Eyed Peas and Nick Jonas and the Administration. Very engaging stuff. Total time-suck. Enjoy!
