You know what helps you get on the good foot? Shoes. How about some handmade TOMS shoes with gnarly blue lions on them, which have been autographed by The Features? Well, there's an auction going on right now for just that pair of shoes, and it's sitting at $61 as I put these fingers to keyboard.
If you're not familiar with TOMS, they're shoes that you buy, and when you buy them, a pair is also given to a child who might not be able to have shoes otherwise. So it's a two-for-one, and you're a good person for doing it. Sure, some U.K. reviewer just referred to The Features as "Kings of Leon for dads, if you like," but you know what dads do? They give shoes to kids who need them. And what impoverished child wouldn't want a pair of shoes signed by KOL's fave rock group?

Kings of Leon for dads? I don't like. Maybe they meant that they don't write songs about VD.
No one can be butthurt about "Kings of Leon for dads" when we all know like half of their songs are about being a father.
YOU CAN'T EVEN GET THE FAKE LYRICS RIGHT YOU ARE NOT A REAL FAN!!!!!!!!
Kinks if they stayed together? Unchallenging and familiar? Simmy Richman got it mega-twisted.
Butthurtsday's the only day that I've been looking forward to.
Hmm...I doubt seriously that's what the reviewer was reaching for. He was talking about the way they sound, I think. And unless I'm mistaken bonus track "Mosis Ptosis" is the only such song on Some Kind Of Salvation.
And, hey Mr. Reviewer Man, is there something "challenging" about KOL's music? I hadn't noticed.
Good thing these shoes aren't going to be designed or signed by KOL! Thanks The Features for being a part of a wonderful and charitable cause!!
Love you guys!! Love TOMS Shoes!!!
@Andrew J The challenge is making it through an entire KOL album without falling a sleep...
the cause behind the shoes should be the focus here...
(and do I have to remind you all that kol are making a lot of great things happen for the band you are so adamantly defending?)
@ Bawston Sean -- not to mention deciphering those dog-on-a-choke-chain vocals.
@ seriously -- (no.)
Hey everyone! The girl putting on these auctions is also putting on a HUGE TOMS event and I am sure you would love to be apart of it!
O’More College of Design and TOMS Shoes have designed a benefit event that combines art, fun, fashion and philanthropy – the Style Your Sole party on the College’s campus Saturday, March 27, 1-4 p.m. Participants will put their personal artistic touches on their sets of TOMS Shoes, and the company will send free pairs to children in need as part of their “One for One” program.
TOMS Shoes (www.tomsshoes.com) was founded on a simple premise: With every pair you purchase, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need – One for One. Using the purchasing power of individuals to benefit the greater good is what they're all about. The company has provided hundreds of thousands of free shoes to children around the world, with a special focus on the people of Haiti since the devastating earthquakes earlier this year.
Students at O’More College of Design wanted to get involved, and thought it would be fun to provide the materials for community members to create a custom-designed pair for themselves. Participants can paint, draw, sew and add flourishes to their pairs of shoes. The benefit, of course, is the One for One program.
The deadline for ordering shoes is Monday, March 8. Various styles of TOMS Shoes can be ordered through http://merissatomlinson.com/online_form/form.html
Limited quantities and sizes will be provided by Nashville Clothing Company for purchase on the day of the event. To guarantee the size and color of your choice, pre-ordering online is recommended.
Event sponsors include: Chick-Fil-A, Nashville Clothing Company and Smoopy’s Vintage Bicycles. Entertainment will be provided by Stevierock & The Blues Connection.
