The Features vs. Kings of Leon at Shuffleboard [The Sporting Life]

Posted by Steve Haruch on Mon, Feb 15, 2010 at 7:35 AM

When The Features played Exit/In two weekends ago, there was a lot of hubbub and sleeve-talking about this and that and English-journalists-what and Kings-of-Leon's-sound-guy-this and guest-list-who, but in the end it was just another great Feature show.

Or was it?

As you may recall, The Features departed for dear old Blighty just after the Exit/In show and, after playing for a packed house here that featured a whole bunch of English journos, proceeded to sell out their first London gig. Was the hype created by a possible Kings of Leon opening set at Exit/In responsible? We may never know! But we can now witness the heated shuffleboard rivalry betwixt the two bands, thanks to the videographical work of a "South Yorkshire born music journalist now based in east London" who goes by the name JamesMcMahon3 on the YouTube. Check out the intense gamesmanship in these pub-game vids. Can Caleb lay it down on wax? Is Roger doing heroin? Will Losers beat Winners? Hard to tell!

He overshot his target. What a blunder!

Holy cow! Caleb sounds completely different when he is not aware he is on camera.
