So from 5-10 p.m. on Feb. 27, Rumours Wine and Art Bar and Blackbird Tattoo and Gallery will be hosting an event by the name of Neighborly Love to benefit the UN World Food Programme's efforts in Haiti. Tickets are $10, and the shindig will feature a silent auction, a raffle ticket auction, music, food and wine. Tentative raffle participants will include Halcyon bike shop, The Belcourt, the Nashville Rollergirls and loads more.
Participating bands include Buffalo Clover, POWERBRRRD, The Admirals Club, Woodgrain, Julia the Menace, Zarycki and some sort of alleged Holly House supergroup, along with DJ sets from Jonny 8 Track, William Tyler and Thad Solina. Not a bad lineup, but Neighborly Love's organizers are looking for more. That's where you come in. If you'd like to perform as part of this philanthropic soiree, get in touch with its organizers by emailing mandakathrynhackney [at] gmail [dot] com or brit [dot] lei [at] gmail [dot] com. Good party, good cause.
