Some weekends, deciding what to use as an image for the round-up is an absolute no-brainer. I mean, seriously. Have a look at that weird shit over there. Anyhow, I personally consider Valentine's Day kind of a joke and an embarrassment of a holiday ... especially when people use the word "lovers." But what are you gonna do? You're gonna go out, have some drinks and see a good show. That's what you're gonna do. Have a look at some of this weekend's best goings-on below and continued after the jump, and please, be careful out there. Love is a battlefield. Friday: * Tortoise w/Disappears at Exit/In. And congrats to the winner of our caption contest, of course. * The Dynamites feat. Charles Walker at Mercy Lounge. * Dieselboy w/Squake Legion Hunter High Society at 12th & Porter. And of course there's Will.I.Am, who will be getting "the 'R' word" over at Mai after the Black Eyed Peas' Sommet appearance. It's a showdown! * Matt Urmy w/Ken Will Morton at The Basement * Mondo Drag w/Across Tundras at Springwater. * Music City Mardi Gras 2010 feat. Burning Las Vegas at Cannery * Black Eyed Peas w/Ludacris & LMFAO at Sommet Center * Max and The Wild Things w/Ned Van Go & The Kevin Abernathy Band at The 5 Spot. * Born Empty w/Murphy's Kids & The 54 at The End Here's the rest of Friday night. Let us know what we missed. Saturday: * Hank III and Assjack w/Flexar at The End. * Oblio w/Deleted Scenes, Shoot the Mountain & Steve LaBate and Shotgun Lover at The Basement. * Love is Deaf at Douglas Corner * Rick Springfield at The Wildhorse. He'll also be appearing on Valentine's Day. Treat the coug in your life to something truly special! * Coal Train Railroad at Grimey's. That one's at 4:30, with juice from Whole Foods. * Guilty Pleasures at Mercy Lounge * Belmont University Rock Showcase feat. The Delta Saints, Eikon, John Flanagan & Daniel Berrios at the Curb Event Center. And the rest of Saturday. Have a great weekend, lovers.
