Hey, we thought it took 12 hours to release a festival lineup, so when InsideVandy.com released the deets on this year's Gathering of the Flip-Floppalos, we just figured they were gonna use "social media" to make us wait all day for ... aw hell, we were in a meeting and none of us saw when it went up this morning. We had important stuff to discuss! Also, we anti-climaxed enough yesterday to last us a lifetime. Anyway, looks like this year's Rites of Spring headliners are Ben Harper and Relentless7 and Drake. Not that you'd know from looking at the RoS website -- what is with this "We'll use anything but our own website to announce shit" trend? Why do you have a website, festivals?!

So yeah, Drake as in the guy who raps, "I can make your pussy whistle" (like the The Andy Griffith Show, no less) on that song "Best I Ever Had." Other artists you might be interested in laying down $55 in advance or $65 day of show to see while surrounded by Vanderbilt's chapter of the Future Embarrassing Facebook Photos of America club include Phoenix, Passion Pit and -- holy shit, Doug E. Fresh! The fest is Apr. 23 and 24, and tickets go on sale Feb. 22. Full lineup after the juh-juh.

Phoenix and Passion Pit are the only bright shining stars out of this otherwise typical bland RoS lineup.

Since they aren't Pitchfork darlings and haven't collaborated with Courtney Tidwell, Spin has never heard em, but The New Mastersounds will deliver..

Unpopular with the creamers or not, I really dig Ben Harper--and the Relentless7 album is a good spin. Commence with the comment abuse.

Any clue what artists are playing on which days? Hate that it's just announced as one big blob of artists.

RoS lineup is definitely not weak... Phoenix and Passion Pit are obviously gonna be sick... not to mention the funkfest that New Mastersounds and Trombone Shorty are gonna drop on a bunch of virgins
