So the first-ever Asinine Weirdo Festival is upon us, and they've chosen Nashville as their HQ. Awesome. Wait, what's that? Oh, right. They prefer the term "Tea Baggers." Fair enough, fine patriots. Fair enough. Tea Baggers it is.

Anyhow, since the festivities are going down all the way out at Opryland, hopefully the streets won't be clogged with placard-toting Palin-ites. Plus, news is apparently slow thus far. Some good shows are going on this weekend, and you can have a look at them after the jump.

Friday:

* The Features w/Cortney Tidwell & Majestico (AND NOT KINGS OF LEON) at Exit/In. People are still going to be pissed.

* Night One of The Basement's Five-Year Anniversary Bash feat. Kat Brock, The Branded Sons, Ben Cashatt & more.

* Look What I Did CD Release feat. MARJ, Stuck Lucky, Diarrhea Planet & Thomas Medicine at The End.

* Elle Macho w/Harrison Hudson & Enlou at The 5 Spot.

* North Mississippi Allstars at Cannery Ballroom.

* Umphrey's McGee w/Moon Taxi at War Memorial. There's an after-party at 12th & Porter feat. Corleone & DJ Kidsmeal.

* Hecatomb w/Armament at Little Hamilton

* Ned Zeppelin w/Dan Halen at Mercy Lounge. Ha.

* Kenny Rogers and the Nashville Symphony at Schermerhorn. How are the Tea Baggers going to decide between their placards and this one?

The rest of Friday is here.

Saturday:

* Girls w/Magic Kids at Exit/In. Gotta say, though there are some catchy songs on that record, the lyrics are WACK.

* Of Montreal w/James Husband at Cannery Ballroom. Husband's also doing an in-store at Grimey's.

* The Long Players Perform Elvis Presley at Mercy Lounge.

* Night Two of The Basement's Five-Year Anniversary feat. Not Guilty, My So-Called Band, The Coolin' System, Weekend Jimmy and the Easy Party & WARTHOG.

* The Urban Music Challenge feat. 20 Ten, Chad Armes, Low Pro & more at The Rutledge.

* Hardy Boys w/Dirt Scab Band at The 5 Spot.

The rest are here. Enjoy!
