From the Department of Titanic Deck Chair Re-Arrangement: Billboard reports that Warner Music Nashville will replace full-length albums (10-plus tracks) with two shorter six-song collections -- and they're calling each of these releases a "Six Pak." Um, OK.
Savvy music consumers are probably already familiar with this concept, also known as "releasing two EPs" or, colloquially, as "charging double." What will the first, uh, "Six Pak" be? A new half-dozen songs by Blake Shelton, to be called Hillbilly Bone. That's right: Blake's only gonna give you half his Bone on Mar. 2. Maybe the second, uh, "Six Pak" will be called White Snake Moan! I dunno. "It's a quicker way to get new music to [fans]," Shelton's quoted as saying in the Billboard article. Hey major labels: Guess what's faster than pressing two CDs a year? Oh, never mind.

what's the price for the six-pack?
and besides, isn't everyone just going to buy the songs they like on iTunes?
so it doesn't seem like it could be called a ripoff.
people listen to music differently; the album is dead. not waiting for the last four crappy filler songs to be written and recorded seems like a good idea.
my, what a baseless slam on the act of trying something instead of hanging onto something that isn't there.
