Jersey Shore's DJ Pauly D at McFadden's -- Tonight!

It's hard to believe, but it's only been 50 days since MTV premiered Jersey Shore. I quite honestly consider it to be one of the best examples of reality programming the genre has ever shat out, and that tanned and drunken piece of pop culture crap quickly metastasized on the pleasure center of my brain.

Tonight at McFadden's, my favorite cast member will be making an appearance. That's right, girls: DJ Pauly D(reamboat) will be beating the beat down on Nashville's glamorous Second Avenue. Will he actually be DJing? I have no idea! And I don't care! All's I know is me and my pal from the days of prehistoric kindergarten, Sean Maloney, are going to spend the evening battling to house music and stalking that kid's life up and down the boardwalk.

Look. We could sit here all day and talk about the innate misogyny and culture of violence Jersey Shore revels in. We could discuss the temperament of the kinds of people who aim to be reality stars in the first place, and the wretched futility of their transitory fame. I'm sure you'll let me know I'm the foolish one for dropping down actual money to get a glimpse of one of these interesting human specimens in their natural habitat and feeling sincere excitement about it.

But let's not! Because it doesn't actually matter! We all know that. Sadly, for those not prescient enough to have pre-ordered tickets, the event is sold out. But there are tons of other things to do this evening, should one feel inclined! Tonight is also the season finale of the show (which I will be DVRing). I'm not sure 50 days is enough.

It's just house music. It wasn't R&B! We were battling! We weren't grinding or nothing! BEAT UP THE BEAT.

Is there a dress code? Do I have to rock a blow out? Cuz I can and I will. Blow out and beard - the future of fashion.

If you can manage a blowout without being disrespectful to my boy Pauly, by all means go for the gold.
When we get bored, we can come back to my place for some ham, btw.

is there any doubt that something really bad and/or violent and/or glorious is going to happen at this thing?

Honestly, if it does, I don't think it will come from DJ Pauly Defcon. He's so obviously wittiest, nicest one of the bunch, I've started to think he may be a production plant.
I've never been to this bar so I can't speak for the patrons, but I've heard this is a joint where people slip n' slide on spilled beer.

oh, trust me. my expectations for bad bad things rest squarely on the shoulders of said patrons.

Can we send Chris Crofton & Dave Cloud down there as Nashville's own Situation and Jwoww?

I like how MTV figured out that the new way to do "The Real World" was to jettison the idea of having it be a mixed bag of personality-types and just fill a house with douche-bags of the same aesthetic. Well done music television!

listen...about two/three years ago i was in the bronx, and i ran into pauly d in a bar. one thing led to another, couple jack and COC shots here and there, and the next thing you know i was dumping ice water on his hair yelling, "It still won't fucking move!"...and that bastard threw water on me, completely washing off my fake tan. Ill see you tonight pauly d. We got some unfinished business.

For the uninitiated, this link contains some of the best catchphrases my favorite show of the winter has provided to society.
