An organization known as Intuit is sponsoring a competition called Love a Local Business, in which they'll be doling out grants based on customer votes/comments. Check it out:
The Love A Local Business competition lets fans, including customers, vendors, employees, and the community, determine who deserves some love - in the form of small business grants. Five nominated businesses will be randomly selected to receive small business grants worth $5,000. Then, our monthly guest judge(s) will review the nominations to determine which one will have their grant value increased to $35,000.
Whoa, $35K? Where do we sign up, amiright? Two of our favorite local businesses have been nominated for the competition, and we certainly consider both perfectly deserving not only of community-wide support, but also of vast riches. The record gurus at Grimey's are in the running, as are the bike peddlers down at Halcyon. Both businesses host shows and sponsor wonderful events in the community. Click here to vote for Halcyon. Click here to vote for Grimey's. Hell, I can't decide which to vote for. You do it! If you know of another worthy local business that's been nominated, let us know in the comments. Good luck to our friends at both Grimey's and Halcyon.
