Midlake to Play Mercy Lounge on April 1

Posted by D Patrick Rodgers on Tue, Jan 12, 2010 at 1:53 PM

Damn, Mercy Lounge/Cannery! We can hardly keep up with all of these announcements. Alright, so wintry folk troupe Midlake's 2006 release The Trials of Van Occupanther was a fine one--a release that drew comparisons to the likes of Fleetwood Mac and Neil Young and contained gems such as "Young Bride," which is depicted in video form above. Their forthcoming record, The Courage of Others, is cut from the very same cloth: It's loaded with beautiful arrangements, though I can't say it necessarily brings anything new to the table.

That said, these dudes are known for their remarkably tight live performances, and now you can see for yourself. They'll be at Mercy Lounge on April Fool's Day (no joke), and tickets are $12 in advance and $14 the day of. They'll be available here on Friday at 10 a.m.
