There was bloodshed on Lower Broad last night as a disgruntled vagrant stabbed a doorman in the chest outside the Second Fiddle. The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. as the doorman was trying to get the "aggressive" panhandler to leave the vicinity of the downtown honky-tonk, according to
WKRN.
Neither the identity nor the condition of the victim has been released at this time, although police told
WSMV his injuries were not life-threatening. The accused attacker was arrested. Speaking to WKRN, a Metro police officer cautioned downtown visitors not to get rough with homeless panhandlers, as "a lot of them will have mental issues, they have issues with dealing with people in society so it's really dangerous for you to get aggressive back with them." We can probably say the same for tourists and local musicians.
