It's the end of the Aughts, Nashville! What to do on New Year's Eve? Lucky for you, this here flowchart will help you decide. Just follow the lines and stuff. Of course, there wasn't room for everything that's going on--this is the big city, after all. In addition to all the sexy stilt-walkin' and Broadway guitar-droppin' and Pink Delorean-dancin' there's a 12-band juggernaut going down at the Hamilton that is Little, as well as some shindiggery at Betty's. (You can peep both those lineups over at Nashville's Dead.) Charted lineups after the jump.

Oh, this is just the best thing I have ever seen. I may bust out some Venn diagrams before the day is done.
I'm going to see Moon Taxi at Exit/In and I'm taking my Lava Lamp!
I was gonna say The 5 Spot, but I don't think My So-Called Band has learned any Pele or Tristeza songs yet.
All it would take is one Archers of Loaf song to totally start 2010 on the right foot.
WTF are "sexy cowgirl stilt walkers" - was that a typo? Do they mean "street"?
also lots of noise at little hamilton on 12/30
boar, swim ignorant fire and sobou shuu from dubuque iowa
84001 also plays.
8pm
Bo,
I think the tickets at 12th and Porter are going to have to come down a hell of a lot more before you see that place full.
Sheesh, Steve, how'd you leave THE NOISE BANDS off the flowchart! Nothing says New Year's fun like pretentious, self-important, atonal, arrhythmic tunez.
Like Wick-it said, "Two Thousand Tennessee". Venn diagrams and pop dominance.
Hey Janet,

No typo.
"Nothing says New Year's fun like pretentious, self-important, atonal, arrhythmic tunez."
They may be self-important . . . but the noise bands are the LEAST pretentious bands in this town. At any rate, the Little Hamilton Show is on the 30th, so it doesn't apply for this article.
regarding door covers, 5 Spot is $10. I just heard the sold-out Guilty Pleasures was $50!
They may be self-important . . . but the noise bands are the LEAST pretentious bands in this town.
First, I was talking about the "tunez," not the bands. I wouldn't cast aspersions about people I've never met.
Secondly, saying that "they may be self-important" and in the next breath claiming them to be "the LEAST pretentious" is disingenuous. If anything, I'm guilty of tautology.
