Once again, the Cream overlords have put the (soon-to-be-ex) intern in charge of the weekend round-up. It's my last day as academically mandated free office labor at the Scene office and, although I won't admit it out loud, I might just miss the constant stream of chatter about Bruce Springsteen and the days where The Muse's website would crash my browser while listing their shows. But enough of that sentimental crap, on to the shows:

Christmas on the Block feat. Matt Friction and the Cheap Shots, The Comfies, The Billy Goats, Nite Nite, Powerbrrrd, D-Paul & Bravo Max at Exit/In. We're a little unclear about the lineup on this one. The Exit/In site doesn't list Born Empty or The Nobility, but they are named in the pick from this week's print edition. In any case, it 's a free show and it's benefiting Toys for Tots. Bringing an unwrapped toy is encouraged, but not required.

Velcro Stars w/Cuttlefish & Jason Yeary (of Hammertorch) at Wall Street.

Cy Barkley w/So Jazzy, The Cannomen & Bad Cop at The Rabbit Hole. Budget show! Four bands for a dollar.

Second Annual Basement Beatle v. Stones Christmas Charity Bowl feat. The Privates, MODOC, My Tyger, Judd and Maggie, Thomas Jamas, will Holland, Reno Bo, The Shazam, Oblio, Tommy Hans and more. If you're sick of hearing Christmas covers, but want to be charitable, you can opt for Beatles/Stones covers while supporting Second Harvest Food Bank.

Fever Queen w/Leslie Keffer at Betty's Bar and Grill. Fever Queen, if you don't already know, is Cortney Tidwell's "experimental alter ego." She's making her debut as Fever Queen at the Charlotte Ave. dive.

Hollow Ox w/Bows and Arrows at The End.

Fringe Magazine's Holiday Celebration feat. Jeremy Lister, Andrew Belle & WideAwake at Mercy Lounge.

Visit tonight's listings for more or comment if we missed anything.

Hm, should I take away a toy from my nephew or buy a new toy for the tots? Decisions decisions.

@Michael: They double-booked and are still listed on both venues' websites, but they will only be playing The Basement. Allegedly, however, D-Paul (of The Privates) will be DJing at Exit/In.
