Local imprint Cleft Music is regifting--but in a good way. See, the familiar label has packaged up a new CD filled with 80 minutes of "outtakes, demos, odds and ends" and is offering it up to y'all for the low, low price of $5 from the Cleft website or a mere $3 if you pick one up at Grimey's. It's got stuff like Jonny Corndawg's live demo for "Shaved Like a Razor," an alternate take of The Mattoid's "Joy" and even a Lylas demo from 2006. So these are some pretty deep cuts, and essential to have on record for the local rock completist. But here's where the gift really gets to giving: A portion of the proceeds from each sale will go to Second Harvest Food Bank. So go pick up some local rarities and help hungry people get something to eat. Everybody wins.
