Hey hey, it's our 2009 Year in Music issue on racks now. Inside you'll find all your faves plus some new faves you didn't know were your faves yet. Get your kicks for Assorted Awesomeness, Top Albums, Top Shows and Top Country Albums. And be on the lookout for our Rock 'n' Roll Poll next week. Special thanks to JEFF the Brotherhood, Bows and Arrows, Future, My So-Called Band, Natural Child and The Kindergarten Circus for being good sports and jumping around on trampolines for our amusement and photographic needs. Even more in the usual section:

Inexplicable Obscurity: Large-scale commercial success is Brendan Benson's white whale. (Playing Saturday, 12th at Exit/In.)

Pro-Choice: Darrell Scott gets to do it his way (or his way, or his way). Playing Friday, 11th and Saturday, 12th at Station Inn.)

Fever Pitch Shift: With the music industry and recording studios in decline, Lake Fever Productions makes a scrappy stand. (See also: Lake Fever Sessions.)

In The Spin: Cheap Trick, Superdrag, Jensen Sportag, Forrest Bride and more.

totally agree that they represent the best of nashville for 2010!
next year the world will know!
and then we'll have to hate them!
(but until then)

Second year in a row Michael McCall's list of the best country has become an instant iTunes playlist for me, and a great reminder of why this remains a great creative town.

jeff kicked ass this year no doubt. they carried infinity cat, without them, the other bands on there wouldn't get that attention nationally (not an insult, just sayin...they are the keyholders on that label) and they do great things for the nashville scene. keep jeffin' it jeff.
