Our favorite punk mistress who flew the coop was profiled over the weekend in the Sunday Times in a quaint slice-of-life piece about Williamsburg and its painfully cool residents. Jemina Pearl and indie stalwart Thurston Moore gab about vinyl and punk, and reminisce about how they met:

The group walked around the corner to Egg, a Southern-style restaurant. Over fried chicken and Bud Lights, Ms. Pearl and Mr. Moore talked about how they met, in 2006, when Mr. Moore went to Nashville to sign Be Your Own Pet to his label. "We came to the show and then we smoked weed in the back of the club and we signed the deal," Mr. Moore said. Ms. Pearl shook her head. "We didn't sign the papers that night," she said. "It's not the '60s."

My brother used to live down the street from egg. The food is great, despite being in a neighborhood infested with trustifarians.
