Do you wish you had a boyfriend? Are you crazy? Are you fucked in the head? Do you wish you had a pizza and a bottle of wine? Someone out there does understand you, and he's in a cult band. Yes, San Franciscan jangle-poppers Girls are coming to Exit/In on Feb. 6, 2010 w/Magic Kids. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 day of show. Don't say we didn't give you enough notice on this one. Take the jump to see the "Hardcore XXX Edit" of the "Lust for Life" video. (It involves Hunx and his junx, just so you know.)
This version is totes NSFW, I am not kidding about that, and according to the band it's not even the porniest version there is!

Girls look like knobs and sound unsettlingly like Hot Hot Heat-lite. I would attach the tag "overrated" to them, but they don't even deserve that.
all i've heard from this girls band has made me think "this is shitty". but, when your band sucks, make a porn and call it your video and pitchfork will blast that shit!
I love Girls' album and was pumped when I got into one of their recent shows for free (yeah, I keep up the whole get free shit thing even when I'm NOT in Nashville) and maybe it was the crowd, but I was bored. A lot of those songs are really mid-tempo numbers and I was expecting them to really rock out...but they didn't.
I still plan on paying to see them in Nashville and I think that everyone should go buy their album. It's one of the best of the year in my opinion. For once Pitchfork is right!
