Interesting news out of England as Q the Music, the online arm of Q Magazine, is currently running a feature titled "Heypenny on Nashville." In it, Music City's favorite theatrical indie-pop juggernaut tells the Brits a thing or two about our local scene--giving lots of love to Grimey's, The Basement and Mercy Lounge--and adding in some commentary on their favorite "less countrified" Nashville bands--such as Lambchop, How I Became the Bomb, Kyle Andrews and The Features. These bands, along with Caitlin Rose, JEFF the Brotherhood, Madi Diaz, Mikky Ekko, Natalie Prass, Pico vs. Island Trees, Shoot the Mountain, Telephant, The Biv and The Protomen, are all featured on a streamable playlist, rife with MySpace links, at the end of the article. Check it out!
