Patrick, if this you-as-Gold thing is actually happening, then I command you to at least stop by the 5 Spot so I can see this shit.
Stryper and Daltrey burns in the same post. Nashville!
Natural Child 7" release at Glenn Danzig's. Awesome show with awesome bands at Little Hamilton.
Is it really a Daltrey burn? I mean, the dude is playing songs by various artists, which he obviously didn't write, plus songs by The Who, which he also didn't write. Doesn't make him not technically a legend or anything.
And as far as Stryper...ah never mind. It's Stryper.
It's kind of a burn; not a Stryper-level burn, but a burn nonetheless.
You know, I'd sooner pay $60 to see Roger Daltrey sing Who karaoke at the Ryman than to pay quadruple that to see The-Touring-Outfit-Which-Contains-Glassy-Eyed-Ringers-in-the-Stead-of-Keith-Moon-&-John-Entwhistle-That-Is-Calling-Itself-The-Who at some hockey arena.
But if you want all the authenticity you can handle, there is always Corwood Industries' own Jandek (which I would go to if it was anywhere as remotely compelling).
HEY
GLENN DANZIG'S

The Gloaming (Nashville's Youth Rock String Quartet), Derek Hoke, Tristan, Paul Burch, and The Branded Sons are all playing Whole Foods Market Green Hills tomorrow (Halloween) for FREE - concert starts at 1pm!!
On Corwood Industries:
Never thought i'd see Adam Gold share the stage with Dylan Simon, well done sirs! Shades of Moe Tuckerisms and John Cale meeting Tim Buckley at 3am. As i was nodding along some guy was like, "Hey dude don't take it so seriously" and then patted me on the shoulder with a smug sense of knowing. To which i replied with a shrug of wtf? meh.
