There are all different kinds of hot people in this town, looking for other like-minded bodies to get hot with. Friday night's Kings of Leon show led to quite the missed connection--these crazy kids have a boatload in common, from their shared hatred of our music coverage to their shared hatred of Grimey's.
Anyway, I hope this King finds his Queen. I think they will be really and truly happy together! May their sexes be always on fire.
You were one row in front of me on the floor at the KOL show. We made eye contact from the moment you walked in, then we made casual conversation after the horrible opening act about how bad they were. We shared lots of interests---to be specific we discussed our hatred for the Nashville Scene's music section and how we both feel like we're being sized up when we walk into Grimey's. You are the first person I've met that feels the same way I do about that. We also talked about how it was refreshing to finally be around a crowd that really has a passion for live music, and how the ticket prices weeded out the barflys and trendy people who show up just to be seen on the town. I was wearing a Land's End sweater vest and you had on one of those fab new American Apparel hoodies. We made eye contact at the end of "Use Somebody" and it was like you were singing it to me. I was singing it to you.. . . . . . . .Now I KNOW you know who I am. I could be your King, you could be my Queen, "you know I could use somebody......."

so which writer for the blog wrote this missed connection? just had to get your jab at mother/father in here somewhere.
You know, I thought about not posting it because of the possibilty that it might be fake. But then I decided that would make me an even bigger asshole, because if it's real, this young man is entitled to his opinions about bands, record stores, and clothes just as much as anyone else, even if I personally disagree. We just can't win!
PS - there were two openers and I heard Mother/Father did well.
Singing along to Kings of Leon...feeling sized up walking into Grimey's...LAND'S END SWEATER VEST?!? I hope they find each other and then stay the hell away from me.
being sized up when we walk into Grimey's.
This part I can relate to.
You know, I hear people make that comment about Grimey's all the time and I don't agree. At all. They're pretty cool there. They're helpful without being pushy.
I remember the judgmental eyes of the Tower Records west end location and even received a lot of snarky comments as I was handing over cash.
I totally agree with MBH. I feel like the folks at Grimey's go out of their way to be cool, cooperative and unpretentious. If you feel like you are being "sized up" when you walk in Grimey's you are probably a little neurotic or insecure about something. They try to promote what they think is hip but they certainly don't discriminate when it comes to music loving people.

Who me?
I am often felt up when I walk into Grimey's. It's why I keep going back. Love love love them folks. What's with all the Kings of Leon nonsense on here? Are their fans REALLY that insecure?
Republican Lovers...also is the word snarky replacing douche as the most overused word on the cream?
You are all a bunch of snarky magpie muffins Cream! here's a nickle for a phosphate now get the phuck outa here!
Man, today is just rocking with "lawlz" comments! Snarky magpie muffins is so absolutely the name of my next album, I just can't stand it! And @sideman... Damn you, Sir! I simply was not here in time to write the "feeling felt up" line... sigh. Well, great minds I suppose! Well done, brother--he adds as he begins a pity party for puns lost.
Oh and I have no opinion about this article, I'm just feeling friendly and chatty today.
Cheers, me magpie buckos!
