OK, so it's not actually cold. But I'm a Tennessee native, so my mindgrapes start to freeze whenever it drops below 70. Here's the Friday night business:
Birds of Avalon w/Hans Condor, Richie Ghostfinger & Church of the Good Hustle at The 5 Spot. According to 5 Spot Todd, "Church of the Good Hustle may be most of the 5 Spot staff, but we see what doesn't work and what rules every night of our lives." Fair argument.
Hands Off Cuba w/Forrest Bride, Square People, The Zut Alors & more at Open Lot. Another venue on the East Side! Happy to see things opening up a bit.
The Original Charades & The Exotics at Mercy Lounge. Check out Maloney's story on The Exotics, an "example of this town's invisible garage rock scene" from the '60s.

Jacob Jones w/Michigan City Vandals & Blue Eyed Blacks at The Basement.
