Too many amazing options this weekend. Seriously. How is one supposed to decide between all these shows? Well, I suppose if your lazy ass (like my lazy ass) forgot to secure your admission to the Protomen release show, that narrows your options a bit. Here's what's on the radar:
The Protomen Act II Release Show at Mercy Lounge feat. The Non-Commissioned Officers & The Make-Up and Vanity Set. I happen to know that at this performance there will be choral and orchestral arrangements of unprecedented proportions.
Cortney Tidwell Boys Release Show at The Basement feat. Caitlin Rose, Paper Hats (William Tyler's latest) & more. GET A COPY OF BOYS. It's good.
Colin Hay CD Release Show at The Belcourt. Yes, it's the Colin Hay from Men at Work. And according to Jewly Hight, he "sounds at home [on his latest], with his identifiable melodies given lean, sophisticated accompaniment."
Glen Campbell w/Jimmy Webb and the Nashville Symphony at the Schermerhorn. Tonight is the second of three performances.
Heavy Cream w/Cheap Time, Symptoms & Canomen at Springwater.
Colette at Mai.
Michael Ford Jr. and the Apache Relay w/Evan P. Donohue, Allen Thompson & Livin' With Jack at The End.
Furious Primates w/The Big Shots, Wes Floyd and the Daisy Cutters, Losers Beat Winners, Lynn Taylor & Red Caps at The 5 Spot.
That LGBTBBQ-friendly dance party Pansy Dance is back again, this time at Little Hamilton feat. DJs Burgers and Kid Chicago as well as "kissing booth, glitter-fabulous, naughty-bits bake sale." These kids sound like they know how to party.
And the rest. Also, don't forget that It Might Get Loud opens at The Belcourt tonight, if that's what you're into. Have a good weekend. Back tomorrow with more.
