Perhaps you gathered from Maloney's video post or Jack's post on Pith that a Captain D's commercial was shot here in the Scene building yesterday. In addition to an alarming amount lighting equipment and crewpersons, there also happened to be three seemingly well-trained seagulls in the office. You might have seen Jack's video of the gulls straight chillin', but you can also watch this clip of a seagull nearly flying into my face. It looks like the audio on the clip is messed up, so you won't be able to hear the girlish whimpers I emitted when the bird nearly clocked me in the dome. You probably would have just mocked me anyhow. Friday night shows:

Trey Deuce Party and Compilation Release at The 5 Spot feat. Ole Mossy Face, Hands Down Eugene, Duraluxe, D. Striker, Spiritual Family Reunion & more. Don't forget that We Own This Town's latest podcast is composed entirely of Trey Deuce artists. Give it a listen.

MSTRKRFT at Limelight. Read Seth Graves' CRTC'S PCK.

Xavier Rudd w/Jeremy Fisher at Cannery Ballroom. Upstairs at Mercy, it's Shazam's CD release show.

Vermicious K'nids w/Jasmin Kaset, CCTV & Land and People at The End. If you haven't caught any of those acts before, that's a solid lineup and worthy of checking out.

Day 1 of Little Hamilton's two-day Tesla Deathray Fest feat. Stuck Lucky, Marj!, Heavy Cream, Karoshi & loads more. Oh, and a band called Assquatch is on that bill.

Eclectica early at The Basement. That one's at 7 p.m. After that, you've got Modoc w/Lonely H & Church of the Good Hustle at 9 p.m.

Rebirth Brass Band w/The Levees & The Revivalists at Exit/In.

CB Tucker Band w/Stagolee, Dixie Whiskey & Pale Horse Revival at Springwater.

There's also a very neat art show called The Big One: Art of Death going on at Bad Apple Studio on Chestnut. It features work from over 40 artists, and it's all totally macabre and awesome. So check that out if you're art-savvy. Here are the rest of the music listings. Let us know what we missed, enjoy your Friday, and check back tomorrow for more.

I plan on checking out that art show first, but hopefully I'll catch the majority of The 5 Spot show. Viva la Deuce!

About the end show tonight:
The music listings has our name spelled "Vernicious" yet again (thanks for getting it correct on the blog). And it's Lands & Peoples (plural). Sorry to be so particular but it's specific name, and some people are particular about it. Especially if you're in a band with an impossible and ridiculous name to say/spell that has been getting fucked up since we started.

For Bucket City folks, Bastoids, Yardwork, and Awesome Shirt are playing at Tomato Tomato. Unfortunately this will be that last show ever at Tomato Tomato. They close their doors next weekend.
