Yesterday our good friends over at the Mercy Lounge tried their damnedest to confuse our spam filters by blasting us with five press releases in the span of 61 minutes. Since it would be a gratuitous waste of bandwidth to post about these shows individually I've opted for a bit of press release round-up. Here goes:

Boom! Lord T and Eloise will provide a night of hipster-trash aristo-crunk on Sep. 4. Al Kapone [sic], of Hustle and Flow fame, will open.

Boom! 4AD recording artists The Mountain Goats will bring their critically acclaimed asses to the lounge on Nov. 20. Opening for them will not be Department of Eagles, nor will it be Eagles of Death Metal, Grizzly Bear, White Rabbits, Frightened Rabbit, Dr. Dog, Jonny Corndawg, Cat Power, Mice Parade, Danger Mouse, Modest Mouse, Wolf Parade, Wolfmother, Wolf Eyes, Sea Wolf, Japanther, Deerhunter, Deer Tick, Deerhoof, Caribou or any other Animal Collectives. The opener will be a band that managed to make it into the indie-rock zeitgeist animal-name free, despite such a feat they are still saddled with a terrible moniker: Final Fantasy. Yeah, really.

Boom! The Mega-Mantastic kings of Nashville and dimensions beyond; The Protomen, will unleash Act II--the long-awaited follow-up to Act I--on Sept. 25. Employing the use of a "10+ string ensemble, 10+ choir section, an unnumbered amount of horn players (not to mention the 10-piece that executes a normal Protomen show), and multiple visual aspects (projections/televisions)" The men of proto will perform both Acts I & II in their entirety. Joining in the festivities will be Make Up and Vanity Set.

Boom! Heypenny will release their CopCar EP this coming Monday, Aug. 10, by hosting an 8 off 8th featuring the likes of Mikky Ekko, Madi Diaz, Natalie Prass, Coral Castles, The Biv & more. That show is free. Read more about it here.

Boom! The Dynamites feat. Charles Walker bring some soul to the Lounge on Sept. 11. We already told you about this one last week but boom anyway, consider this a reminder. Read last week's post here, it's never to late to comment. Holla! Also, if you have no soul but still want to check out some live "music" on 9/11 there is always BUZZFEST '09 at Riverfront Park.

Boom! Oct. 9 is fight night at the Cannery Ballroom when Lucero make their triumphant return to Cannery Row.

Also, don't forget about the De La Soul & Nomo show goin' down TONIGHT!

Tickets for all Mercy and Cannery shows can be purchases at Ticket Web.
