As reported on Pithchfork, charismatic frontperson Jack White will be releasing a solo single on Aug. 11 via his own Third Man label. What does this mean for his other projects? Probably nothing. The song, "Fly Farm Blues," was written, uh, on the fly during the making of the Davis Guggenheim-directed guitar doc It Might Get Loud, which features White alongside Jimmy Page and The Edge.

But talk about burying the lede: Third Man is also releasing a single by Transit--a band made up of Metro Transit Authority employees! "C'mon and Ride" b/w "Afterparty" also comes out Aug. 11, and both songs are, apparently, about riding the bus. You may or may not remember that Transit beat out six other bands to win the Music City Corporate Band Challenge back in March, a victory which earned them a slot at the CMAs.

Jack White does like buses!

No word yet on whether Third Man will also release "Brand New Way," the winner of last year's MTA jingle contest.
