* Too bad embedding's been disabled, because, really, why would Weird Al want to prevent anyone from watching one of his videos, at this point? Anyway, the Weird One has a new song called "CNR" (those initials standing for Charles Nelson Reilly, who is on the TV, from what I hear), and it's done in the style of the White Stripes. Not a bad approximation, really. (Via Idolator.)

* MBV is streaming the album Awe Owe by Helado Negro (yes, that's "black ice cream"). The record's officially out today, and the band (Roberto Carlos Lange + whomever) come to Nashville Sept. 12, playing at a venue listed on their tour itinerary as "William's House." Y'know.

* Look out for a band called Powerbird.

* Got a tip? Send the emails to cream /at/ nashvillescene /dot/ you-know-what.
