The Features at Lake Fever, Live Nation Special & More: Newsy Bits

Posted by D. Patrick Rodgers on Mon, Aug 3, 2009 at 11:45 AM

• Here's a little preview of The Features' upcoming Lake Fever Session, which will feature performances of "Thursday," "All I Ask," "Whatever Gets You By" + "The Drawing Board" and "Baby's Hammer." The sesh debuts Aug. 10. Keep your eyes peeled in "Thursday" for some Cream teamer gang vocal cameos.

• You know how Glossary are opening up for Drive-By Truckers at Cannery Ballroom on Aug. 6? Well Drew Binkley of Monkey Ink Design drew up a very cool poster for that one, and printed versions will be available soon. Local collectable!

• Theory 8 artists The Winter Sounds have a four-song remix EP available for free download at their website. It includes a remix from Uncle Skeleton--which, you may know, is the side project of the ivory-tickling half of KinderCastle.

We told you several weeks back about Live Nation's "No Service Fee Wednesdays." Until now they've just been waiving service fees at amphitheaters, but this Wednesday, Aug. 5, they're extending the special to include 86 indoor venues across the country, plus some tickets will go up for half-price. I was going to see what if any Nashville shows the special might include, but Live Nation's website crashed my browser three times, so I'll leave that to you.

We Own This Town's latest podcast is comprised entirely of Trey Deuce artists. Trey Deuce has completed their second compilation, and they're celebrating its release on Friday at The 5 Spot. But we already told you that part.
