You know what's awesome? You know why we should consider ourselves lucky? The Dynamites are some of the baddest cats in contemporary soul and funk, and they're from right here in our own town. That means they sent us their forthcoming record way early, and I've been spinning it since it arrived. Burning It Down--their second studio LP--will be out Sept. 15, and The Dynamites will be touring this fall in support. Burning It Down was my record of the day at one point last week--yes, I'm still listening to a new record every day--and I was not disappointed.
If you haven't caught The Dynamites featuring Charles Walker live, for God's sake, do it. Gone may be the days of the Cookes, Reddings, Sams and Daves of the world, but as long as dudes like this are holding it down, Nashville's going to have some soul. They'll be at Mercy Lounge Sept. 11. Tickets are a measly $12, and you can purchase them here. See a full list of The Dynamites' dates after the jump.
