The Decemberists Play The Ryman Sept. 27

Y'all like The Decemberists? Then I thrill you with the announcement that the affable bunch will bring their quirky non-threatening pop sensibilities live to The Ryman on Sept. 27. The band--who you may have heard of on the Colbert Report--have a new record called The Hazards of Love. According to the band's press release it's "acclaimed" and the current "A Short Fazed Hovel" tour in the support of the record is earning "rave reviews as it crosses the United States from coast to coast." I haven't heard this record yet. As a matter of fact, I don't recall ever having heard the entirety of a Decemberists record. Are they any good? Aren't they "twee" or twee compatible? Does anyone or anything admit to being twee anyway? Whatevs. If what they do is your kind of thing, then by all means go. Tickets go on sale Sat. 8/1 here. Laura Veirs and the Hall of Flames open.
