In case you didn't catch the news over the weekend--reported here and here--we've got a pretty astounding song for you to hear. Ex-BYOP frontlady and current Brooklyn resident Jemina Pearl recently cut a track with Iggy Pop. Seriously, Iggy Pop. Why? Because they both hate everyone. Except for you. Or...one another? Anyway, listen:
Gah, that's seriously Iggy Pop. Wow. Think there's a reference or two to her whole "fuck off" Nashville-to-Brooklyn move in there? "I Hate People" is from Jemina's forthcoming record, Break It Up, which features contributions from old Pearl pal Thurston Moore as well as TV on the Radio's David Sitek. The record will be released Oct. 6 on Ecstatic Peace, and Pearl will be touring this fall with Islands--whose Return to the Sea was a pretty solid album. But guess what city she's skipping! I'll give you a hint: It's not Atlanta, Birmingham or Memphis. Well, I'd encourage folks to throw in their two cents on this one, but I get the impression you're going to do that either way.

Greatest Photoshop'ery the Cream has produced. Subtle but chalk full of goodness.

I'm a huge Iggy Pop fan, but let's face it -- it's really time for him to get dressed. He's 62, for crissakes.
