So yesterday evening, for the 18th time in history, a perfect game was pitched. I know historical moments in baseball don't seem like the sort of thing a pasty, scrawny music blogger might be interested in, but I used to be a pretty savvy baller. Baseballer, that is. And perfect games are a big deal. Plus, these Round-Up styles are pretty difficult to come up with on the reg. Seriously. Try it some time. Here's Friday evening's shows:

Heypenny w/Caitlin Rose & The Saps at The Basement.

Ricky Younge w/The Dexateens at The 5 Spot. Hey, remember when David Berman was kinda in a Dexateens song?

The Whigs w/Glossary & The Ascent of Everest at Main Street in Murfreesboro. Solid lineup.

Grungestock at Cannery Ballroom feat. Ten: A Pearl Jam Tribute, Badmotorfinger: A Soundgarden Tribute, Facelift: An Alice in...alright. You get the point. Loads of totally authentic grunge tribute bands. As Gold mentioned, not sure why it's a "Stock" and not a "Palooza." Critic's Pick here.

Upstairs at Mercy Lounge there's another Naked Without Us fashion and rock show feat. The Becoming, Nola and the Nicola, Jerimiah the Bullfrog, Matt Erickson and Q & Toddorsio.

The Breakfast Club w/Thundersnake at Exit/In. The Breakfast Club will be performing '80s pop covers, while Thundersnake will handle the hair metal end of things. You may recall that Thundersnake was the ultra-capable backing band for Eliza the Arrow on Monday evening.

Surviving Kenny w/Stilldown, Flu, Assault With a Battery (haha!) & Blind Defeat at Springwater.

3 Minutes to Live w/Forgotten Fable, Blood Logic & The Destruction at The End.

Let us know about anything we missed, et cetera. Back tomorrow.
