Cream A Very Paramore Christmas, The Dead Weather, JEFF the Brotherhood: Newsy Bits

* It's "Xmas in July" over at Billboard, which means Paramore on the cover in peppermint stripes/Christmas tree costumes/bad sweaters/footie pajamas. Have they forgotten the reason for the season? (Via @yelyahwilliams. I think my subscription ran out or something.)

* The New Yorker's Sasha Frere-Jones opines on The Dead Weather: "The band isn't doing much that Mountain and Budgie weren't already doing thirty-six years ago, but those guys aren't working as much as they used to. There's room."

* By way of Brooklyn Vegan, we find out that everybody's favorite brotherhood, JEFF the Brotherhood, will be touring with Shonen Knife this fall. And they're on Twitter--with possibly the coolest background image ever. JTB have a new record on the way in October, called Heavy Days.

Last.night.I.saw.JEFF.The.Brotherhood.in.Orlean
s.ma.where.we.never.get.out.of.town.bands...
After.reading.about.their.crazy.shows.in.NY.I. was.psyched.to.see.them.and.we.couldn't.believe. they.were.coming.to.a.basement.of.a.friend.of.ours...
But.their.myspace.says.we'll.play.anywhere.so.I.guess.that's.for.real...
They.did.not.disappoint...Best.show.ever.in.my.young.life...
Yes.my.space.bar.is.broken!
