Is a case of the Mondays keeping you down this morning? Well, buckle the fuck up because I'm about raise your morale as high as love lifts Jackie Wilson; tonight brings about the second installment of our life-changing 8 off 8th series "Music That Will Make You Cream." And you know what that means? '70s covers. Tonight's lineup is as follows (first to last):

Home Keys

Heavy Cream

Tristen

Caitlin Rose

The Tits

Turbo Fruits

Cheer Up Charlie Daniels

Paper Navy

What can you expect? How 'bout a full-fledged recreation of the Last Waltz? OK, that's not gonna happen, but there are going to be collaborations galore (I think), so bring a film crew along with all your friends. Get ready to hear choice cuts by Badfinger, Fleetwood Mac, The Faces, Tom Petty, Neil Young, The Band, The Stooges, The Runaways and more. While I'm excited about the excellent selections submitted so far, I'm a little miffed that I've yet to see any songs by Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello or The Clash. So if you're playing tonight, feel free to surprise me. I don't want to have to cut someone. Like last week we will be giving away prizes, including $50 gift certificates to the Groove Record store and an Epiphone guitar.

Update: I've just been informed by the Mercy Lounge that they're offering an additional prize giveaway. Whoever has the most '70s-centric attire will have their entire bar tab paid for by the house. So get out your tackiest retro get-up and make yourself seen by the bar staff.
