Jungle-Trance-Hip-Hop Fuckin' Shit Music: Henry Rollins Remixed

Posted by Sean Maloney on Wed, Jul 8, 2009 at 11:09 AM

Electronic Music and Henry Rollins--two things I both love and hate. Two things that are simultaneously awesome and insanely silly. Two things that really should have been in a video together sooner. I've always had a soft spot for Rollins even though I think he's sort of insufferable and Black Flag was a better band without him. (The Process of Weeding Out is my jam, but I'm sure you coulda guessed.) Electronic music--in certain forms--really tickles my pickle, but mostly the genre and its fans just make me laugh, with their rather goofy affections for some obviously stupid shit. I dunno, I guess I just like to shit on everything, even the things I like--sue me.

Either way, whether you love and/or hate techno and/or Henry Rollins, the above video is pretty frickin' hilarious. It was put together by DJ Steve Porter, who used to run in the same circles as I did when I was taking drugs studying at UMass-Amherst. Steve is actually kind of famous for making the kind of trance records that I tend to laugh at, but recently has moved on to more entertaining, intentionally parodic YouTube videos. After the jump, more awesomeness from DJ Steve Porter, including the amazing "Press Hop" featuring Allen Iverson.

(HT to DJ Ra.)

Playoffs!!! Playoffs!!!

Does the ShamWow come in a vap-o-rub flavor? It would seriously rule if it did.

If Porter does a campaign song for The King , I'm toally moving to Memphis. I've done dumber things for worse reasons.

If you haven't seen this one, you probably shouldn't be on the Interubes anymore.

agreed.
keith morris will always be my favorite black flag front man. though, had he not quit, there would have never been the circle jerks. so i guess it's all for the best.

Henry was the most intense Flag vocalist....just watch the live videos from '82 (The best year for Flag) or 1984. In 1982 Black Flag had 2 guitarists, Dukowski was still with the band and Rollins was at his maniacal height. Morris was great, but better off with the Jerks. And I'm pretty sure Henry is a fan of some "electronic" type music (he loves old school rap and I know he has nothing against NIN.)
