Tomorrow morning, I'll be interviewing Jesus Lizard guitarist Duane Denison in preparation for the band's July 14 show at Exit/In. As most of you already know, Denison--who currently lives in Nashville--plays in Tomahawk (with Mike Patton) and Th' Legendary Shack Shakers as well. In keeping with our current climate of interactive media, I thought it would be appropriate to see if any of you Cream readers had questions for the man.
Post any inquiries in the comments section and I'll use whichever ones don't suck.

Huge fan - Interviewed them back in the 90's before their show at the Pantheon (Where the Country Music Hall of Fame is now)and drove them over to an interview on 91 Rock.
My question:
I recently picked up their major label debut "Blue" and felt it was watered down compared to their T&G releases. How much influence did the record label have on the songs and where does it rank in JL output in Duane's opinion?
I grew up near Chicago and remember seeing ads for Duane's guitar lessons in the record stores. I saw him play with Hank III right after I moved to Nashville, but then he took a long break from the chicken-pickin' scene before joining the Shackshakers. My question is:
Did he move to Nashville so he could play that kind of music and fill out his own toolbox of tricks a little more? I mean, it's pretty far from the Jesus Lizard style, so what's the story there?
Q1.
Did D. Yow have any input regarding the music, or did he just come in with lyrics and his "melody."
Q2.
What is the writing process like with Mike Patton?
Q3.
Does he realize his riff to Mouthbreather slays any other riff ever written.
Also ask him if he realizes that "Goat" is so f**king amazing that I still get all tingly when I listen to it even after all these years.
Guitar Geek Question: Does DD use open tunings? Trying to play some of his riffs twist my fingers into pretzels.
Sidemouse Question: Saw DD with Hank III back around 2000-2001. Any plans to work with him again?
Fashion Police Question: When will Duane grow the early 90s mullet out again? I imagine it would go over well in Nashville.
