Darlins Fever is sweeping the nation, as evidenced by the ratio of our Darlins-to-non-Darlins coverage thus far today. See their entire Lake Fever Session here.

Before I get accused of hating, I'll say for the record, that some of Those Darlin's music is quite catchy and memorable.
However, if you get down to it, their music sounds like some average bar band playing blues influenced country and rock. Let's be honest with oursleves and ask, is THIS band and their music worth all the hype they have going? really?
To put it another way, if they were all unfashionable, overweight girls, with an unfashionable drummer, would their music stand out at all? Seriously? Really think about this, before you call me a hater.

For self proclaimed students of music, you all sure make yourselves look uneducated.
If you were to take many (not all) of the now well loved rock bands and looked in the scene around them, in their infancy, youd find many other bands that were as good if not better. It took the right dude/dudette at the right time to find the diamond in the rough. Although these ladies (and not forgetting the gents) are a wee bit rough around the edges, they do bring the cleverness and fashion forward thinking that you will see in %95 of the bands from the same area/scene.
The best possible thing we can do right now is support our local musicians so that when the eyes of the industry turn our way (for the umpteenth time) they dont see a city in flames. They see a community of music lovers/makers that have something to offer the world.
Ill get off my soapbox now and leave you with this.. Linwood is damn sexy, and thats the reason this band is getting any attention at all.
