Don't let my shitty Photoshop mislead you--that's actually supposed to be a respectful homage. It's been an intense week. Let's all blow off some steam. Here's Friday night:

How I Became the Bomb & KinderCastle perform ELO's Out of the Blue at Mercy Lounge. The Spin will be there, watching and judging. This is a good record, How I Bombed the KinderCastle. Please do it justice. Also, a certain unnamed dandy has just requested that I inform everyone that the music begins at "9:30 SHARP."

There's a house show/pot-luck event on the East Side feat. Jonny Corndawg, The Extraordinaires (from Philly) & Tristen. It's an early one: food at 6 p.m., music at 6:30. It's on Franklin Ave., but I won't get any more specific than that. Bring food to share.

Sausagefest at The Basement feat. Los Sausages, Hurts to Laugh, Organ Thief & more. Admission is $6.66, but it's all the wieners you can scarf!

Town Mountain at Station Inn. It's Asheville-meets-Nashville. Or as Jon Weisberger puts it, "Rough-hewn and energetic--but with an underlying sophistication that generates intermittent surprises..."

The Millionaire Magicians w/The Outlaw Lovers & Cavalcade (formerly Cavalcade of Cock) at The End. That's a down-and-dirty one right there.

Royal Thunder w/Admirals Club, Hell Comes to Town & Laser Flames on the Great Big News at Springwater.

The Here We Go Boys w/The Old One-Two, Lynn Taylor & The Red Caps at The 5 Spot.

Bad Cop, Heavy Cream & Useless Eaters holding it down over at Little Hamilton.

Wherever you go, and whatever you do, remember to spill a little bit of that 40 on the earth for the homies who can no longer be with us. If you'd like to peruse the listings a bit more, do it here, and if you've got something to share, please do so in the comments.

To any bands out there who might be flirting with the idea: please don't organize a Michael Jackson cover song night.
