"You Light Up My Life." Like a RAPIST.

Posted by Ashley Spurgeon on Wed, Jun 24, 2009 at 10:30 AM

Joseph Brooks, composer of the insufferably treacly "You Light Up My Life" is...a serial rapist! Probably! He's facing 82 (!) counts of rape, sexual assault, and assorted other terrible things. Playing the casting couch game, he allegedly posted Craigslist ads convincing young women he could turn them into stars--only to drown them in wine and force himself upon them.

I was going to post a video of Debbie Boone's performance of the song that made the man a millionaire and award winner, but the song sucks and he's probably a rapist. Here's Fats Domino (not Debbie's father) performing "Ain't That a Shame" instead.

I still think Steven Tyler has done worse things for humanity.

Don't make me hurt you, Gold. You know how I feel about Aerosmith...

Man, if drowning impressionable young women in wine and forcing myself upon them is wrong, I don't want to be right.
