'RIP Neda': Nashville Guitarist Twitters Iran Shooting Death

Posted by Steve Haruch on Mon, Jun 22, 2009 at 9:08 AM

From CNN:
"RIP NEDA, The World cries seeing your last breath, you didn't die in vain. We remember you." That Twitter post was from a man who said he is a guitarist from Nashville, Tennessee. Amid the hundreds of images of Saturday's crackdown on protesters in Iran that were distributed to the world over the Internet, it was the graphic video showing the dying moments of a young woman shot in the heart that touched a nerve for many people around the world.
If you know anything about the identity of the guitarist, please email music [at] nashvillescene [dot] com. Video is after the jump, and is definitely disturbing.

A Nashvillian who describes himself as a guitarist posted this statement on Twitter, according to CNN: "RIP NEDA, The World cries seeing your last breath, you didn't die in vain. We remember you."
I'm the "guitarist in Nashville" whom posted that Tweet. Incredible sadness for me to see such a tragic death. I've composed "SONG FOR NEDA" in her honor and memory. You can listen here if you'd like:
