Now that all this Bonnaroo madness is behind us, we can start talking about the rest of the rest of the summer. So, here's the deal: This July, Cream takes over Mercy Lounge for an entire month of 8 off 8ths, packed with the best local bands, plus giveaways, drink specials, food and a bunch of other stuff that we'll announce soon.
It's basically gonna be a party, every Monday night for a month. And of course you're invited. Covers are the name of the game for this four-week throw-down, and each night will span a different decade of hits and/or obscurities:
July 6: 1960s
July 13: 1970s
July 20: 1980s
July 27: 1990s
A few of the bands already confirmed include (in no particular order): The Protomen, How I Became the Bomb, The Privates, Hotpipes, The Clutters, Non-Commissioned Officers, Turbo Fruits, Roman Candle, Ocelots, The Mattoid, Shoot the Mountain, Chris Crofton and the Alcohol Stuntband, Kindergarten Circus, Bows and Arrows and Plex Plex. We will post complete lineups once everything's all nice and firm. As always, these shows will be free. And awesome.

brilliant.
is there a way we can make sure I know all the songs?
many times, the lyrics giveaway the title of the song, if you listen close... thats what I would do.
Who's going to bring the Talking Heads covers that I'm jonesin for? "Memories Can't Wait" and "The Girls Want to Be with the Girls" are just waiting for a revival.
Nerding out listening to The Name of This Band the other day, I realized that on "The Girls," Jerry Harrison absolutely nails three different parts on different instruments! I know we have that kind of talent around here...
