Bonnaroo Friday: Let's Get Roasted

Posted by Sean Maloney on Fri, Jun 12, 2009 at 1:55 PM

There should be a picture of a beautiful beef shoulder roast with a garlic/dill rub. It was breakfast and it was awesome, IMHO. Mesquite charcoal, a nasty moonshine hangover and steak is how we roll at Fort Cream. But the gods of the intertubes don't like my mobile PC, so you don't get to see it. Sorry.

jonelle Monae was yesterday's stand out, by a long shot. She has a guitar player that looks like Ike Turner and sings songs about cyborgs - which is, frankly, all I've ever wanted out music. Murs got the party started properly, but I took notes with a sharpie and now they look like a blurry-eyed Rorschach test. And about that weather...

Ya, all that weather made it's way into the tent. I am a bit damp. Oh, and there's a twitter going around that some flight some where has been cancelled and it's holding sixty musicians bound for Bonnaroo, including Phoenix. Dun Dun DUN!

Who would be coming from Phoenix...and who has 60 members in a band? Phish was in Knoxville on Wednesday, I doubt they took a quick trip to AZ. So the Friday headliner should be on the grounds.

There's a band named Phoenix, just like the city but French and people like them.
