Loads of incredible shows this evening. What's more, you've got Mia Calderon, Kidsmeal, How I Became the Bomb and Hollow Ox all celebrating the respective releases of their new records/CDs/digi-EPs. Here's everything I know about:

Black Moth Super Rainbow w/School of Seven Bells at Exit/In. Black Moth's latest, Eating Us, is pretty cool. So says I, anyhow.

How I Became the Bomb Digital EP Pre-Release Party feat. Lucky Pineapple, Justin Kase & Coral Castles at Mercy Lounge.

J.J. Grey and Mofro w/Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit downstairs at Cannery.

DJ Kidsmeal CD Release Party at The End feat. Orig, Wick-It & The Billy Goats. Maloney gives Kidsmeal's Secret Recipe 9 out of 10 cones, and it's only missing that last one due to tardiness. Pretty solid endorsement.

Hollow Ox Record Release at Springwater. From Sullivan's Pick: "Hollow Ox never attempt the density of My Bloody Valentine--the standard against which all shoegaze bands are compared--but the band is willing to jam it out longer than their influences ever did."

Beat Box Armada Benefit and Mia Calderon CD Release Party feat. Coolout, Levi Weaver, Trio Gringa and some fashion-y/design-y stuff at The 5 Spot. All the proceeds go to Nashville's Sexual Assault Center and RAINN.

There's also the Nashville Nights benefit at Family Wash, Kate Melua w/David Berkeley at 3rd & Lindsley and Bootsaroo feat. H-Beam, The Janissary & more at The Rutledge. Holy damn, look at all those options. I know where I'm going to be. For the most part, anyway. Time for you to figure out what you're hitting up. Back tomorrow with more.

Please tell me y'all had a writer/photog at the Dex Romweber/Detroit Cobras show last night. Even with zero Scene/Cream coverage they packed the house at the End. Definitely one of the best shows of 09 thus far.

ps. What time does the HO show start? The HO page says 10pm, The Scene says 9pm and 84001 (the openers) say 8pm.

Well, Toby, MySpace listings on band pages default to 8 p.m. unless you specify otherwise. We at The Scene list start times for venues like Springwater and The 5 Spot (who rarely have listings that are set in stone) at 9 p.m. as a general statement. If you've ever been to a show at Springwater, you'll likely know to expect 10 p.m. That's a safe bet. Nothing feels more lame than showing up at the Supper Club before 9, when the lights are still on and none of the bands are even there yet.

I didn't go to the Cobras show last night, but the last time I saw them the Woggles wiped the floor with them.

@Doyle: Like I said, one of the best shows of 2009. I liked Dex more than the Cobras. The Cobras looked so fitting for the End. I don't know how the drummer or the female guitarist could have looked any more RnR.

Now I kinda wish I had gone to The End last night instead of eating an entire summer sausage and watching DVDs.
